Flood Releif

I just love Jon Stewart!

Have you seen my motivation?

I seem to have misplaced it. Between the blizzards, flood and a cold, I have basically been at home for 8 days now. (Well I have been to the grocery store once and church on Sunday.) Isaac has not had school because of the above mentioned reasons.

But I have not wasted all my time lately. I have been attempting to reclaim the ability to sleep day and night like when I was a teenager. For example, I stayed home on Saturday to sleep while the rest of my family went to the circus. Yesterday I got up and took my shower all ready to bring Isaac to school only to find out that it was canceled so I went back to bed and immediately fell asleep. I have also been taking several naps.

I have also been polishing up my couch potato skills which is more challenging without cable, but I think I am doing very well at it. I think it still counts if you are reading a book, right?

Last but not least, I am close to perfecting the art of feeding my family without actually cooking. In the last 9 days I have actually only cooked 3 meals! We had leftovers twice last week, one box meal, and 3 freezer meals.

Well if anyone finds my motivation, let me know...thanks

Floods

Wow, what a week, from an ice storm to a blizzard to a flood. Our side of the river is fairing pretty well. Our house is in no danger, but so many houses and businesses are being flooded. Isaac's school is most likely in water. Also, his speech therapy center. I feel so badly for all those affected and encourage all of you to add them to your prayers.

Here are some pictures from around the area:

UPDATE: Isaac's school did not get any water in the building so they are up and running again.

Blizzard

Apparently this winter is never going to end. We are getting hit with a huge storm. I think we have had every kind of precipitation that exists in the last 24 hours: rain, hail, snow, etc. School has been canceled in our town today. Our Moms Night Out has been canceled. (Bummer) Even the snowplows have given up. Todd went in to work but came home at noon. I put some soup in the crockpot and will probably have to bake something. What else can you do on a day like this but eat and sleep and read?

New title

Did you notice my new title? You need to say it like blah, blah, blah...hee hee..

My sister suggested it. Thanks, Sis!

Disadvantage of having a furry sister

Isaac made a cute project at school yesterday. Using puffed cereal, he made some pussywillows on blue construction paper. It was so cute. I put it on his craft table when we got home where I usually put his school work so Todd can see it when he gets home.

I guess Stacy could tell that the cereal was food so when no one was paying attention, she snuck off with the paper. She ate all the cereal off of the paper! Naughty girl!

Isaac was so mad at her that he said that he hopes the glue on the cereal makes her sick!

Spring Break

Yeah, it's spring break, and it actually feels like spring! The snow and ice have been melting! Isaac even got to ride his bike on Saturday!

We have been having a great time off from school. Isaac has been sleeping in until 8 or so. That is very late for him. We had a great playdate on Friday. And have another one scheduled for tomorrow. We also had a fun weekend with some family in town.
